As Principal your goal is to ensure that every student has the opportunity to achieve academic success. However, as you know, not every child has the ability to learn in the same manner. Some children require a variety of strategies and accommodations in order for them to achieve success. It is our mission to help your students achieve their educational goals.
Our Audiologists and Speech Pathologists specialize in evaluation and treatment of school aged children who are experiencing or are suspected of experiencing the effects of a central auditory and/or language processing disorder. Central processing disorders are often a significant contributing factor to academic, language, and socialization difficulties that many school aged children often experience. Unfortunately, while many of these children do undergo hearing, language, and a variety of academic assessments, the true extent of central auditory as well as central language processing deficits is unknowingly unsuspected.
Central processing disorders often are observed in children who are experiencing difficulty with following directions, remembering academic assignments, following rules and important academic and logistic procedures, following rules of social communication and interaction, and remembering relevant and appropriate problem solving sequences relative to a variety of academic and social activities. Of utmost importance and significance is the impact that central processing difficulties have on a child’s ability to read and comprehend the written word, as well as their ability to compose linguistically and grammatically appropriate sentences, compositions, and essays which is so vital to higher level, academic, scientific, and socially related writing.
Our staff provides initial as well as follow-up evaluations and therapeutic consultations that are designed to assist children and their families, and school districts who might feel the need for our services.
In addition to diagnostic and therapeutic services we also provide assistance in the design and installation of the next generation Hearing Assistive Technology Systems (HATS) that goes beyond the traditional FM systems, and is more cost effective and easy to use.
We encourage you to contact us at any time with any questions you may have about our on-line services we provide, including our in-service education programs.
